GV Wine Merchants is an independent fine wine merchant established in 1998 and based in Sevenoaks, Kent. The company, originally named BWI, was founded by Andy Lench as a UK-based sister company to Bordeaux Wine Locators, an enormously successful business importing wines from Bordeaux and other classic regions into the USA.  The business was created to serve private clients seeking expert guidance when buying, collecting and cellaring fine wine. From the outset, the focus has been on combining deep market knowledge with a highly personal approach to client service.

Over the years the company has developed long-standing relationships with producers, négociants and merchants across the major wine regions of the world, developing very close ties with Hong Kong and the US. These connections enable GV Wine Merchants to offer clients access to a carefully curated range of wines, including Bordeaux en primeur, ex-château releases and mature vintages sourced from trusted suppliers. In 2014 the UK and Hong Kong branches of BWI were re-named as Grand Vin Wine Merchants, to match Andy’s retail operation in Washington State.
